We're proud to announce that Seamind is joining the prestigious PIER71 Smart Port Challenge 2026 cohort.
PIER71 (Port Innovation Ecosystem Reimagined @ BLOCK71) is Singapore's flagship maritime innovation program, run by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and NUS Enterprise. Every year it selects a small group of startups to work directly with the industry at the heart of global shipping. We're honored to be one of them.
The Seamind journey so far
Seamind is built in the San Francisco Bay Area. We started with a simple observation: shipping moves 90% of world trade, and a surprising amount of that work still lives in spreadsheets, PDFs, and email threads. Not because the tools people have are broken, but because the tools the work actually needs were never built.
So before writing much code, we went and watched the work. We sat with crewing teams while they planned reliefs, traced the paper trail a single certificate leaves across an office, and read the SMS procedures seafarers are expected to know cold. Everything we've shipped since came out of what we saw there: crew management, payroll, training, vessel documents, safety.
Today commercial ship operators run their day-to-day on Seamind, with more than 500 active seafarers on the platform across a fleet of 15 vessels and counting. The result we come back to most: one major operator now runs crewing, compliance, and documents through a single system, where a stack of disconnected tools used to be.
Joining PIER71 puts us at the center of the world's busiest port ecosystem, working alongside MPA, port operators, and the shipping companies that call Singapore home. For a team convinced that maritime deserves better software, there's no better place to be.
